Obituary of Rudolph Bernard Pflaumer

Rudolph Bernard Pflaumer January 15, 1931 - November 14, 2017 Funeral services for Rudolph Bernard Pflaumer, 86, of Lovington, NM/Yonkers, NY, will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with David Stewart officiating. Mr. Pflaumer was born on January 15, 1931 in New York City, NY to Rudolph E. and Margaret (Fisher) Pflaumer and passed away on November 14, 2017 at Good Life Senior Center in Lovington. He grew up in NY and attended Gorton High School in Yonkers, NY and attended two years at New York State University. He joined the US Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Patricia Walsh in October 22, 1960 and they shared forty two years of life together. Rudolph was retired from the NY Telephone Co after many years and was a huge fan of the NY Rangers, the Yankees and the Giants. He was a catholic and a proud veteran and member of VFW. Rudy was a kind and generous man and good to all people he encountered. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and reveled in their successes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Margaret: his wife Patricia and several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Surviving him are his three children: Mary Eileen and husband Stephen McCraw of Lovington NM, Rudolph E. and wife Ellen Pflaumer of Yonkers, NY and Kevin and wife Susan Pflaumer of Middletown, CT; one sister: Marguerite Pflaumer of Lovington, NM; two sister-in-laws: Eileen Walsh & Dorothy Walsh, both of Yonkers, NY; eight grandchildren: Elizabeth and husband Shane Wieser of Lovington, Katherine and husband Jeff Harris of Little Elm, TX, Andrew McCraw of Portales, NM and Victoria McCraw of Lovington, Jared Pflaumer and Sofia Pflaumer of Middletown, CT; Rudolph C. Pflaumer and Kyle Pflaumer of Yonkers, NY; and four great-grandchildren: Erica Wieser, Ryan Wieser, Ireland McCraw and London Harris. In lieu of flowers please contribute to any Veteran organization such as VFW, Wounded Warrior, Wreaths Across America, etc… Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17th from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the funeral home. According to Rudolph’s wishes there will be a memorial service at a later date in Yonkers, NY and burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hastings, NY.
