Alfred Odell Phillips July 08, 1922 - February 14, 2013 Alfred Odell Phillips, 90, of Hobbs, New Mexico was born on July 8, 1922 in Atwood, Oklahoma to Elmer and Alice (Basinger) Phillips and passed away on February 14, 2013 at Desert Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care in Hobbs, NM. He married Helen Frances Shed in Holdenville, Oklahoma on April 29, 1952 and they shared sixty years of marriage. Alfred retired from Homco as a fishing tool supervisor after working in the oilfield for forty years. He is survived by his wife, Helen of the home; one son: Alfred “Lu” and wife Rhonda Phillips of Lovington, NM; one granddaughter: Cammie and husband Bradley Bishop of Lovington, NM and three great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Emerson and Bowen Bishop. There will be no services for Mr. Phillips as he requested cremation. The family will have a private goodbye for him at a later date. The family wishes to extend their thanks to VistaCare Hospice, Desert Gardens Staff and Dr. Mankad and his staff for the care of their loved one.
