Obituary of Javier Porras

Watch the Tribute Javier Porras July 19, 1954 - July 11, 2011 Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Revival Center Church in Lovington, NM with Bro. Wayne Villar officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Javier was born on July 19, 1954 in Juarez, Mexico to Remijio and Leonor (Aranda) Porras and passed away in Lovington, NM on July 11, 2011. He was a dedicated family man and a devout Christian. Javier was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching wrestling in his pastime. He also had a love for bowling and was a member of a local bowling team. He was a hard working man who made lasting friendships. He was preceded in death by his father, Remijio Porras and his brother, Pepe Porras. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Porras of Lovington, NM; two sons, Jeremy and wife Felicia Porras of Hobbs, NM and Allen Porras of Lovington, NM. Also surviving him are three brothers, Armando Porras of Lovington, NM, Remijio Porras of Lovington, NM, and Victor and wife Diana Porras of Lovington, NM. and two sisters, Lucila Porras of El Paso, TX and Delma and husband Miguel Rodriguez of Lovington, NM and two grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Porras will be on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from noon to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com
