Obituary of Jody Renee Powers

Jody Renee Powers November 29, 1948 - March 17, 2014 Jody Reneé Powers, 65, of Hobbs, NM passed away at Lea Regional Medical Center on March 17, 2014. She was born on November 29, 1948 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Albert H. and Mary (Stalder) Gross. She moved to Hobbs in 1999. She was married to Lloyd Powers for thirty two years until his death. Jody loved animals and worked for Top Dog, a grooming shop, where she bathed the dogs. She also worked at Great Plains Veterinary Clinic until her health made it mandatory to retire. She had a dog named Turbo, who was a miniature Pincher, that was her joy in life. Jody was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son, Randy Nicholson. She is survived by two sons: Rick and wife Laura Nicholson of Phoenix, AZ and Lloyd L. Powers of Hobbs, NM; two daughters: Amber Powers of Hobbs and Kathy Kenner of San Jose, California; two grandchildren, Taylor Schratz and Makayla Mount of Hobbs, New Mexico;17 grandchildren total and numerous great-grandchildren.
