Obituary of C. O. Price

C. O. Price December 03, 1917 - April 24, 2012 Funeral services for C. O. Price, 94, of Lovington, will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 12:00 NOON at Resthaven Cemetery with David Stewart officiating. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Price was born December 3, 1917 in Hood County, Texas to John Wyatt and Annie Mabel (Balemon) Price and passed away on April 24, 2012 in Lovington, NM. He married Johnnye Bell King in Jones County, TX September 3,1938. They came to Lea County in 1949, farming at McDonald. C. O. made farming and ranching a major part of his life and he was a self-taught Civil Engineer, doing surveying and engineering for several oil companies. He was employed for many years with Raytheon Company. He was a Baptist, member of the Lion’s Club and a charter member of the Elks in Ruidoso. He enjoyed the horse races and loved music, especially the Big Band era. His greatest joy came from trot-line fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one daughter: Barbara Price; three sisters: Desiree Stanley, Laverne Guy and Geraldine Price and one brother: John Rylee. He is survived by one son: Joe and wife Annette Price of La Luz, NM and two daughters: Anne and husband Wallace Crawley of Lovington and Lu Sherron Michael of Lees Summit, Missouri; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
