Obituary of Ricardo Quintana

Ricardo Quintana September 22, 1926 - July 24, 2015 Funeral services for Ricardo Quintana, 88, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 10:00 am with Father Redentor Molina officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Ricardo was born on September 22, 1926 in Valle del Rosario, Chihuahua, Mexico to Santiago and Manuela (Villagran) Quintana and passed away on July 24, 2015 at Nor-Lea Hospital. He married Dora Franco on March 26, 1969 in Lovington, NM. Ricardo lived in Lovington for forty-five years and worked as a carpenter. Also, he and his family traveled back and forth to California working in the strawberry fields. Ricardo liked to read, watch TV, especially western movies with Clint Eastwood. He liked to deerhunt , clean his yard He was a loving man and responsibility was very important to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Gavino, Elizardo, Bernardo, and David; one sister: Maria Soledad; one son: Ricardo Quintana Jr; two grandsons: Isaac Camacho and Christian Alvarado; and one great-grandbaby: Jujiebear Rivera He is survived by his wife Dora Quintana of Lovington, NM; three sons: Ricardo and wife Blanca Quintana of Lovington, NM, Henry and Kevi Quintana of Lovington and Arthur Quintana of Lovington; six daughters: Maria Soledad and husband Reynaldo Ortega of Tatum, TX, Manuela Garza of Lovington, Delma and husband Jesus Chavez of Lovington, Patricia and husband Armando Alvarado of Pennsylvania, Martha and husband Ernest Hoh of Indianapolis, IND; Alicia and husband Robert Leiba of Lovington; two brothers: Santiago and wife Gloria Quintana of Juarez, Mexico and Manuel Quintana of Juarez, Mexico. Also thirty grandchildren and twenty nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 11:00 am until Rosary time. Rosary will be held at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel at 7:00 pm.
