Sara Ann Bell
May 04, 1927 - March 03, 2018
Sara Ann Bell walked into the arms of Jesus at the age of 90, on March 3, 2018 at her residence in Lovington. She was born in Slaton, TX on May 4, 1927 to Carter and Minnieanne (Rogers) Shaw. She was raised in Slaton, graduating there and then attending Texas Tech University, earning her B.A. then attending ENMU and earning her Master’s Degree. She applied her education serving in the Lovington Schools for forty three years, teaching thousands of kids that she loved equally. She married B. F. “Sug” Bell in Slaton, TX on May 27, 1950. We are grateful for the fond memories she afforded us through the travels we shared. We have seen Disney World and Thunder Mountain and we searched the Carribean for the prettiest beaches and the clearest waters. Late in the day as the sun set we were found dining and celebrating the culture and cuisine. We have cruised the Alaskan Coast and she shared with us that she felt in her heart that this must be what Heaven looked like. Sara loved her family fiercely. The grace and mercy we have received because of her love for Jesus and the forgiveness she has shown us through her unconditional love has given us strength and courage through this journey. She had a sweet soul, a twinkle in her eyes and an air of mischief in her smile. The circle of life plays out before our eyes ~ as generations link hands, whisper blessings and embrace.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, B. F. “Sug” Bell; two sisters: Elizabeth “Honey” Garner and Fannie Lou Shelton.
Surviving her are two daughters: Beth Bell Moore of Lovington, NM and Becky Bell-Durham of Ruidoso, NM; two grandchildren: Kali and husband Travis Price of Whitney, TX and Grady and wife K’lyssa Moore of Lubbock, TX; also one great-grandchild: Logan Carter Bell Moore and the expected great-grandchild, soon to be born, Ellie Kaye Moore and a host of friends.
Services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with Matt Bridges officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice. A special thank you to Starcare Home Health and Hospice for the loving care and special attention they gave to Sara. They were a blessing to her and to us and she loved them everyone.
