Obituary of Jeanette Rice

Watch the Tribute Jeanette Rice December 13, 1933 - November 27, 2012 Funeral services for Jeanette Rice, 78, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3720 North Grimes, Hobbs, NM with Bishop David Camp officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Jeanette was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on December 13, 1933 to Henry Wade and Everlena Middleton and passed away on November 27, 2012 in Lovington. She married Bobby Joe Rice on August 11, 1951 in Odessa, TX and they have shared 61 years of marriage. Jeanette was a bookkeeper and had worked for Baker Petrolite in Lovington and also had worked in Hobbs before her retirement. She was a member of the Desk & Derrick Club and a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed fishing, hunting and needlework. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Lovington Chapter # 35. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Jimmy Wade Middleton and Melvin Eugene Middleton and two infant sisters. She is survived by her husband, Bobby of the home; one son: Mike and wife Patricia Rice of Stamford Lake, TX; three daughters: Suzanne and husband Russell Norris and Pat Rice both of Lovington and Lori Jean and husband Vernon Johnson of American Fork, Utah. Also,ten grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 29th from 8:30 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
