Obituary of Eduardo Benavides

Eduardo Benavides February 01, 1943 - May 20, 2017 Funeral services for Eduardo Benavides, 74, of Tatum, NM will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Tatum, NM. Burial will follow at Tatum Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Eduardo was born of February 1, 1943 in San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico to Domingo and Belen (Ramirez) Benavides and passed away on May 20, 2017 in Lovington, NM . He married Adela Sanchez Navarrette on October 14, 1974 in Pecos, TX and they shared 42 years together. He also lived in Tatum for 42 Years. He liked visiting his family, especially his grandchildren and he liked to visit his brothers and sisters every chance he got. His brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews all looked up to him. He liked to tinker with stuff especially cars and he liked to play cards and dominoes. He was preceded in death by his parents: two sisters: Dulces Benavides and Angelica Bustamante; two brothers: Francisco and Domingo Benavides. Surviving him is his wife: Adela of the home; three sons: Eduardo and wife Sandy of Tatum, NM, Rodrigo and wife Merced of Plainview, TX., and Isaac and wife Stacey Benavides of Midland, TX.; one daughter: Margarita Benavides of Tatum, NM; one sister: Mercedes Zubiate of Abilene, TX.; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Tatum, NM.
