Rivera will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday August 4, 2011 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Jesus C. Rivera, 85, was born on March 28, 1926 in Zacatecas Mexico to Pedro and Maria (Del Refugio Cardona) Rivera. He passed away on July 30, 2011 at his residence in Lovington, New Mexico. Jesus was a loving, hard-working man, who loved spending time with his family and whose dream was to see his family pursue the American dream. He loved eating sweets and enjoyed drinking pepsi. Jesus is preceded in death by his parents, one son Juan Rivera, two daughters Maria de Jesus and Silvia Rivera. He is survived by four sons Eduardo Rivera, Solomon Rivera, Esteban Rivera, of Mexico and Juan Rivera of New York, five daughters Apolonia and husband Matilde Olivas of Presidio TX, Armida Levario of Odessa TX, Rosa Rivera of Presidio TX, Maria Del Refugio Rivera of Mexico, Alma Delia and husband Raul Gutierrez of Lovington NM and twenty-eight grandchildren and numerous great-grand children. Visitation will be on Tuesday August 2, 2011 from 8:30-5pm and on Wednesday from 8:30-8:00pm. Rosary will be held at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel on Wednesday August 3, 2011 at 7pm.
