Obituary of Janice Lynette Robinson

Janice Lynette Robinson May 29, 1942 - October 06, 2015 A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Janice Lynette Robinson, 73, of Lovington, NM who passed away on October 6, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. She was born on May 29, 1942 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Horace R. and Beulah (Lovelady) Little, who both preceded her in death. Janice married Eddie Mack Robinson on September 9, 1961 in Lovington and they shared fifty four years together. In those years she touched many lives while being a homemaker and vibrant community member. Letting children know they were loved was Jan’s driving passion. Whether it was her own, a neighbor down the street, or a child that rode the church bus at Third and Central Church of Christ where she worshipped for many years, she was gracious in her gift of loving. Janice also embraced the community with her good friends, Jeanne Graham, Gladys Purcell and Darlene Hooper as they celebrated her favorite time of year with “Christmas Coffees”, sharing in delectable baked goods and great conversations with many other friends in Lovington. Janice also was extremely passionate about Lovington Wildcat sports, attending every event with her voice being heard as she encouraged the children once again. If you came by to visit, you could find her with a dog in her lap, a cupcake to share and a smile on her face, loving all that God created. She was dearly loved by many, but those who will miss her presence the most are her husband, Eddie of the home, three daughters: Eddie Lou Robinson of Tomball, TX; Alana Gayle and husband Ray Lickliter of Surprise, AZ; Jane Elizabeth and husband John Hicks of Orlando, FL; one brother: Gary Alan and wife Janice Fitts of Lovington; five grandchildren: Kori Robinson, Jeremy and wife Melanie Peterson, J.J. and wife Christine Peterson, Noah Hicks and Erica Hicks and eight great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
