Cordell Rockmore March 25, 1948 - March 05, 2013 Funeral services for Cordell Rockmore Sr, 64, of Amarillo, TX and formerly of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Ernest Hodge officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Rockmore was born on March 25, 1948 in Plainview, Texas to Adorthy and Curlie (Wilson) Rockmore and passed away at Dallas VA Medical Center in Dallas, TX on March 5, 2013. He was raised in Plainview and Lovington but graduated from Plainview where he played football. He served with the US Army in the Vietnam Conflict and was proud to serve his country. He married Paula Swain in Lovington, NM in September of 1974. He enjoyed playing dominoes, watching western movies and going to sporting events such as baseball. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two granddaughters: Angel and Ahonesty Rockmore; two brothers: Willie T. and Cecil Ray Rockmore; one sister: Serena Rockmore. He is survived by his wife of the home, three sons: Cordell Rockmore Jr. and wife of Seattle, WA, Antonio Rockmore of Amarillo, TX and Earl Rockmore of North Richland Hills, TX; three daughters: Darla L. Marshall of Lovington, NM, Marcie Rockmore of Amarillo, TX and Anntonette Rockmore of Lawton, OK and one special daughter-in-law: Domonik Cole of North Richland Hills, TX.; two sisters: Della and husband David Mitchell of Denton, TX and Marilyn Garrett of Lubbock, TX; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be on Friday, March 8th from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
