Obituary of Felipe Jaime Burciaga Ruiz

Felipe Jaime Burciaga Ruiz September 09, 1982 - June 11, 2009 Funeral services for Felipe Jaime Burciaga Ruiz, 26, of Lovington will be held Monday, June 15, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church with burial to follow at Lovington Cemetery. Rosary will be June 14th at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Smith- Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Felipe was born on September 9, 1982 in Baytown, Texas and he passed away on June 11, 2009 in Hobbs, NM. He grew up in Lovington, attending school here and played football at Lovington High School. He also attended NM Jr College. He enjoyed music, writing poetry, & drawing but mostly he loved being with his son & his family. He had worked as a roustabout in the oilfield and also more recently for a landscaping service. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gregorio & Cruzina P. Ruiz and his grandfather, Julio Burciaga. He is survived by his mother & step-father, Lucy & Ermo Elmore of Lovington, NM and his father, Felipe Burciaga of Mexico; 1 son, Rey David Ruiz of Lovington; 1 brother, Angel Ruiz and his wife, Kimberly of Lovington; 3 sisters, Jeanne Burciaga, Candy Ruiz and Marlene Ruiz all of Lovington; 5 nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be Sunday, June 14th from 2:00 pm until rosary time.
