Obituary of Guadalupe Ruiz

Watch the Tribute Guadalupe Ruiz March 31, 1951 - May 05, 2013 Funeral services for Guadalupe “Lupe” Ruiz will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Lupe was born in Guadalupe, Chihuahua, Mexico on March 31, 1951 to Gregorio and Cruzina (Perez) Ruiz and passed away on May 5, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. She moved to Lovington in the 1980’s and then moved to California before returning to Lovington. Her enjoyment in life was her love of working. She was the epitome of compassionate caregiver of others. She liked to read and had a good sense of humor and lived for her son, grandchildren and family. She attended St. Thomas Catholic Church. Lupe was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Rito Ruiz and one sister: Lorenza Ruiz. She is survived by her son, Carlos Adrian Ruiz and wife, Renee of Oklahoma City, OK; five brothers: Jesus Ruiz and wife Sonia of Lovington; David Ruiz and wife, Melinda of Farmington, NM; Jaime Ruiz and Ricky Ruiz both of Lovington; Tony Ruiz and wife Lorena of Juarez, Mexico; eight sisters: Ana Piñon and husband Arturo of Albuquerque, NM; Zeny Monroy and husband Mario of San Jose, CA; Francisca Rosa and husband Rolando of Lovington, NM; Dolores Tarwater and husband Alfonso of Farmington, NM; Lucy Ruiz of Lovington, NM; Bertha Ruiz of Juarez, Mexico; Candi Ruiz of Hobbs, NM and Maria Tapia and husband Ismael of Lovington; two grandchildren: Cynthia Ruiz and Carlos A. Ruiz Jr. and one great-grandchild: Nevaeh Ruiz and also numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 am until rosary time at the funeral home and Rosary will be at 7:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
