Raymon Arnold Rushin April 16, 1921 - January 17, 2007 Services for Raymon Arnold Rushin, 85, of DeLeon, Texas, and formerly of Lea County, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2007, at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Ron Ragland, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Lovington Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled Monday, January 22, from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Born at Shirley, Texas, on April 16, 1921, he passed away on January 17, 2007 at DeLeon. He was married to Doris Hipp Rushin on November 28, 1941. He moved to Lea County about 50 years ago, residing between Lovington and Hobbs. He was self-employed. He played the banjo, guitar and mandolin and at one time, had a band. He moved to DeLeon in October. Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Ann Welch of DeLeon; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Randy Rushin; a brother, Haskel Rushin; and a sister, Lucille Rushin.
