Obituary of William Lawrence Russell

Watch the Tribute William Lawrence Russell March 12, 1937 - December 04, 2010 Funeral services for William "Lawrence" Russell, 73, of Hobbs, NM will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 10:00 am at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Chapel with Bro. Mike Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. William was born on March 12, 1937 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to William B. and Mary (Delaughter) Russell and passed away on December 4, 2010 at Lea Regional Medical Center. He married Brenda Inez Beard on February 6, 1962 in Oak Grove, Louisiana. William was a truck driver for many years and also worked in the oilfield as a tubular inspector. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, good food and he loved his kids and grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother: Ralph Russell and four sisters: Inez Hawkins, Mabel Skates, Willie Lee Davis and Annie Berniece Smith and one grandson: Robert Russell. He is survived by two sons: Dale Russell of Hobbs, NM and Randy and wife Stacey Russell of Hobbs, NM; three brothers: Paul Russell of West Memphis, Arkansas, W. B. Jr and wife Barbara Russell of Oak Grove, Louisiana and Robert Joe and wife Jackie Russell of Soso, Mississippi and one sister: Vivian and husband Archie Walker of Bossier City, Louisiana. Also, 4 grandchildren, Adrian, Ashley, Kaytlin and Madison Russell and 3 great-grandchildren, Jayden and Kylie Russell and Jordynn Rae Evans. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 7th from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm and Wednesday, from 8:30 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
