Manuel G. Salazar Sr. May 23, 1930 - September 18, 2009 Funeral Mass for Manuel Salazar, 79, of Lovington, will be Friday, September 25, 2009 at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 10:00 a. m. with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington cemetery. Rosary will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 7:00 pm. at Kirby-Smith- Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Salazar was born in O’Donnell, Texas on May 23, 1930 to Santos Sr. and Juanita Salazar and passed away on September 18, 2009 in Hobbs, NM. He married Andrea Hernandez on July 21, 1947 in Lamesa, Texas. He worked as an assistant manager for Western Auto until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ray Salazar and Santos Salazar Jr. and one son-in-law, Santos Sanchez. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Andrea, of Lovington, two daughters; Mary and husband Jesus Alcantar and Nora Sanchez of Lovington, NM, two sons; Manuel Salazar Jr of Midland, TX and Freddy and wife Barbara Salazar of Seminole, TX, one brother; Rudy Salazar of Whittier, CA. and two sisters; Rosie Uranga and husband Efrain of Lovington, NM and Emma and husband Frank Aguilar of Tow, TX., 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith- Rogers Funeral Home.
