Obituary of Olivia Lily Salmon

Olivia Lily Salmon November 15, 1938 - March 01, 2015 Funeral services for Olivia “Lily” Salmon, 76, of Lovington, NM will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Redentor Molina officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Rosary will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with visitation on Wednesday also, from 1:00 pm until rosary time. Mrs. Salmon was born on November 15, 1938 in Loving, NM to Crescencio and Rosinta (Saiz) Martinez and passed away in Lovington, NM on March 1, 2015. She married Ramon Salmon Sr. in Lake Arthur, NM on May 12, 1957. She was the epitomy of a loving homemaker as she loved having her children and grandchildren around. She knew all of her family members favorite foods and when they came to visit on weekends she fixed their special foods for them. She cooked for her family with love. She loved dancing and her very favorite thing to do was to clean house and keep it spotless. She enjoyed sewing, reading her Bible and Spanish music. She attended St. Thomas Catholic Church. Mrs. Salmon was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter: Elia Salmon and two sisters: Lola Madrid and Agustina Hinojos. She is survived by her husband of the home, four sons: Ramon Jr and wife Maria of Lovington; Robert and wife Camelia of Lovington; Gilbert and wife Shannon of Hobbs, NM and Ricky and wife Esther of Amarillo, TX; two daughters: Delma Tarin of Hobbs, NM and Priscilla and husband Federico Marquez of Lovington; four brothers: Tino and wife Mary Helen Martinez of Loving; Victor Martinez of Loving; Lorenzo and wife Maria Martinez of Tulsa, OK; Adan and wife Mary Martinez of Carlsbad, NM and two sisters: Lupe and husband Audelio Rivas of Carlsbad and Petra Romero of Carlsbad; Fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
