Obituary of Eddie Mack Benton

Eddie Mack Benton November 09, 1925 - February 11, 2014 Funeral services for Eddie Mack Benton, 88, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Elder H. M. Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Mr. Benton was born in Palestine, Texas on November 9, 1925 to Edd and Margie (McKissic) Benton and passed away on February 11, 2014 in Hobbs, NM. Mr. Benton was married to Alice Nell Cotton on May 21, 1981 in Lovington. He was a longtime resident of Lovington and enjoyed yard work, fishing and working on cars. He was a congenial man who enjoyed life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers: Dallas, Elmer, Robert and Ben Benton; two sisters: Lardele Price and Eunice Payne. He is survived by one stepson, Willie Cotton of Kansas; three stepdaughters: Alice Arthur of Clovis, NM, Dorothy Ann Firson and Jean O’Neal both of Portland, Oregon and one brother: Arthur Benton of Hobbs, NM and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm.
