Watch the Tribute Petra S Silva March 07, 1961 - July 08, 2010 Funeral services for Petra Silva, 49, of Lovington, will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 2:00 pm with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Rosary will be Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel. Petra was born on March 7, 1961 in Snyder, Texas to Antonio Perez and Aurora (Sanchez) Silva and passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at her residence. She has been a long time resident of Lovington and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to travel, dance, play bingo and cards and the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her father, one brother and one grandchild. She is survived by her mother, Aurora Sanchez of Lovington, two daughters: Cynthia Silva of Lovington and Vicky and husband Leslie Chew Sr. of Lubbock, TX; four sons: Joe Silva of Amarillo, TX, Andrew Silva of Dallas, TX, Jason and wife Jennifer Silva of Amarillo, TX, Jonathan and wife Naomi Silva of Lovington, NM; three brothers: Antonio P. Silva of Lovington, Salvador and wife Maria Silva Sr. of Lovington, Daniel and wife Vicki Utajara of Lovington, NM; five sisters: Juanita and husband Manuel Rivero Sr. of Amarillo, TX, Norma and Wanda Silva of Lovington, Maria and husband John S. Martinez of Lovington, Rebecca and husband Efren Tarin of Lovington, 24 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, July 12th from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, Tuesday from 8:30 am until rosary time and Wednesday, from 8:30 am until service time. Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home is conducting services.
