O'Deen "Dean" Sivils March 12, 1919 - July 14, 2007 O'Deen "Dean" Sivils, 88, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007, in Odessa. She was born March 12, 1919, in Flate, Oklahoma, Joseph L. and Mary Lee Smith. She married Loren Sivils July 20, 1984 in Lovington, New Mexico. She loved people, enjoyed cooking, baking, and won the chili cook-off three years in a row. She was a member of Love Street Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren Sivils, her parents, Joseph L. Smith and Mary Lee Smith, three sisters and five brothers. She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Madrid and husband, Joe of Odessa, TX, Jean Miller and husband, Bill of Yucaipa, CA, and Doris Lake and husband, Lyle of Hobbs, NM; step-son, Bill Davis of Salinas, CA; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 18, 2007, and a second visitation from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Resthaven Cemetery in Lovington, NM with James Kirby officiating.
