Obituary of Charles Oliver Stanfield

Charles Oliver Stanfield September 16, 1940 - January 21, 2018 Memorial services for Charles Oliver Stanfield, 77, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11:00 am with family officiating at his home. Arrangements were under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Stanfield was born in Crosbyton, TX on September 16, 1940 to Thornton and Vivian Marie (Malone) Stanfield and passed away at his residence on January 21, 2018. He grew up in Kirkland, NM and graduated from high school there. He met Evelyn Caudill at a church social in Kirkland and they were married on April 13, 1979 having shared thirty nine years together. Charles and Evelyn moved to Lovington in 1985 and he was employed by Gandy Corporation for twenty plus years as a welder. He loved to work and was considered a “workaholic”. He enjoyed camping and fishing and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepson: David Clark; two brothers: John Stanfield and Terry Alan Stanfield and two sisters: Jeannine Hightower and Anita Kizer. Surviving him is his wife, Evelyn of the home; two sons: Randy L. Stanfield of Lovington and Glenn and wife Lorie Stanfield of El Paso, TX; one stepson: Donald Clark of Lovington, NM and one daughter: Jovonna Stanfield of Capitan, NM; one brother: Jack and wife Marge Stanfield of Knoxville, TN; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
