Obituary of Judy Marie Stoops

Judy Marie Stoops January 10, 1951 - November 03, 2016 Funeral services for Judy Marie Stoops, 65, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 10:00 am at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dave Rowser officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Judy was born on January 10, 1951 in Midland, TX to Herbert B. and Learline (Taylor) Young and passed away at her home on November 3, 2016. Judy and her family came to Lovington in 1953 and she graduated in 1970 from LHS. She was employed by John Warren for a short while at John’s Drive-In Grocery and had been employed at Lovington Daily Leader for forty plus years before she retired. She married Stephen Stoops June 4, 1971 in Lovington and they have shared 45 years of life and love together. Judy enjoyed going to Quemado to their retirement home and riding the ATV and calling up the deer and elk. She loved the lake and the mountains and the serenity she and Steve found there. She was great at doing imitations and was a funny, enjoyable lady to be around as she kept you laughing. She will be greatly missed. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Herbert Earl Young. Surviving her is her husband, Steve of the home and one son: Robbie and wife Ericka Stoops of Roswell, NM; two sisters: Joyce and husband Gary Clemens of Lovington and Rickie Young of Lovington; grandchildren: Gunner Stoops, Amber Medellin and Kika Medellin; Niece: Liz and husband William White and two nephews, Jordan and Justin White of Lovington, NM. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7th from noon until 7:00 pm with family in residence at the funeral home from 5:00 – 6:00 pm. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
