Obituary of Martin Frederick Studer

Martin Frederick Studer January 14, 1943 - January 28, 2010 Memorial services for Martin “Marty” Frederic Studer, 67, of Hobbs, NM will be held at a later date in California. Cremation has taken place. Mr. Studer was born January 14, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to Martin Abraham and Winifred (Grant) Studer and passed away on January 28, 2010 in a vehicle accident. Mr. Studer was a Procurement Officer for URS and had been employed by them for 35 years. He traveled to and lived in many countries during his employment with them including Africa, Mexico, Russia, Colombia, and together he and his wife visited Spain, Italy, The Netherlands and Finland. Marty grew up in Los Angeles and attended Venice High School graduating in 1961. He enjoyed traveling, reading, building, home remodeling, and gardening. He married Linda Howard Studer in Miamisburg, Ohio on December 21, 2000. They had been companions for 20 years at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, June Norris and Elizabeth Studer. He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home, two sons: Bill and wife Kyra Studer of Ukiah, CA and John Studer of Chico, CA; two daughters: Sandi and husband Steve Barokman of Ukiah, CA and Debby Fields and companion Jessie Torres of Redwood Valley, CA; two brothers: Steven and wife Juanita Studer of Ukiah, CA and Larry and wife Margaret Studer of Los Angeles, CA and seven grandchildren: Chelsea, Rilee, Tyler, Logan, Katelyn, Payton and Kallie; several nieces and nephews and his first wife, Lan and husband Bob of Ukiah, CA.
