Douglas E. Tate November 11, 1943 - June 26, 2015 Graveside services for Douglas E. Tate, 71, of Shady Point, OK will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Previous services were held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Evans Chapel, Poteau, OK. Douglas was born November 11, 1943 in Big Spring, Texas to Oscar Tommy and Bennie Ruth (Lee) Tate and passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 in Ft. Smith, AR. Douglas was a drilling superintendent in the oil field. He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Tommy Tate; mother, Bennie Ruth (Lee) Holt: step-mother: Doris O. Tate; grandparents: Oscar Frank and Lillian Tate; sister: Tommie Ruth Roye; half sister: Barbara Holt Dolloff; step-brother: Bobby Sartain; half brother: Wesley Holt; nephew: Andy Roye; Aunts: Lucille Borrows, Vena Hadley; Uncles: Melvin, Marvin and Vernon Tate. He is survived by two daughters: Sheila and husband Lynard Barrera of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Nicole Tate of Poteau, OK; one son: Brad and wife Lynnette Tate of Lovington, NM; grandsons: Dallas Barrera of Buenos Aires, Argentina and Jacob Tate of Lubbock, TX; granddaughter: Misty Smith of Crossroads, NM; great grandchildren: Landon, London and Serenity Smith of Crossroads, NM; brother: Jerry and wife Denise Tate of Euless, TX; sister: Juanell and husband Danny Boyd of Crockett, TX; stepsister: Jean and husband Jerry Bofman of Albuquerque, NM; step-brothers: Royce and wife Loveta Sartain of New Brighton, PA, Ron Sartain and Wayne Sartain of Albuquerque, NM; half brother: Mike Holt, of Grape Creek, TX; half sister: LaVerne Garner of San Angelo, TX; nieces: LaChelle Tate of Canton, TX, Karyn and husband Joey Reynolds of Grapeland, TX, Kellye and husband Sterling Liljequist of Coldspring, TX, Briana Srogi of Wills Point, TX, Tricia Roye of Arlington, TX, Gayle and husband Waymon Prater of Arlington, TX, Cathy and husband Donny Baker of Carlsbad, NM, Bennie Jo Holt, Barbara Creech; nephews: Steve and wife Rhonda Roye of Bowling Green, KY, Walter and wife Melody Roye of Hobbs, NM, Darak Tate of Corpus Christi, TX, Chris Holt; great-nieces: Macie James of Crockett, TX, Jennifer Leslie and Jessica Wright of TX, Serenity Tate, of Tyler, TX, Kira Tate of Corpus Christi, TX, great nephews: Chris Tate of Canton, TX, Brian and Jonathan Srogi of Wills Point, TX, Nathaniel Boyd of Coldspring, TX, Carter James of Crockett, TX, Brice, Trevor, and Hayden Liljequist of Coldspring, TX, Joel Dolloff, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and relatives.
