Clarence Aubrey Taylor

Clarence Aubrey Taylor, 86, of Tatum, NM passed away in Hobbs, NM on June 20, 2017 at Hobbs Health Care. He was born on January 11, 1931 in Lexington, Texas to James Walter and Murtis May (Marshall) Taylor. Mr. Taylor grew up in Anson, TX before coming to New Mexico many years ago. He was a “ginner” in the cotton gins and loved doing this type of work. He also enjoyed doing mechanic work and gardening. He came from a musical family and he played the guitar and harmonica. He really liked Hank Williams songs and gospel music and could sing like an angel. Clarence could tell tall tales, tease and tell you riddles and enjoyed being a joker. He married Annie Newsom in Earth, TX on April 4, 1953 and they have shared sixty fours years of life and love together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Johnny Glen Taylor; five brothers and four sisters.
Surviving him is his wife, Annie of the home; four sons: Lyndel and wife Pam Taylor of Tatum, James Taylor of Tatum, Bruce and wife Nita Taylor of McDonald, NM and Steve Taylor of Tatum; one daughter: Ann Smith of Tatum; two sisters: Daisy Mae Conwell of Canyon, TX and Nora Murtis Craft of Roswell, NM; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great,great grandchildren.
Mr. Taylor will be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.
