Obituary of Mable Shields Teske

Mable Shields Teske June 17, 1921 - December 02, 2010 Mable Shields Teske, 89, of Victoria, TX. went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 2, 2010. She was born on June 17, 1921 to Thomas and Estella (Newsome) Lee on a farm near Marlow, Oklahoma. Mable was a long time resident of Lovington, NM until moving to Victoria in 2007. She was an active member of Jackson Ave Baptist Church joining the church in 1963 where she remained a member until moving to Victoria. She joined Northside Baptist Church in Victoria and was a member until her death. Mable worked in the Lovington Public Schools for 28 years as a school secretary until her retirement. She was a member of the Iris Garden Club and was a well-loved lady with many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and father of her children, Chiles Marion Shields, her oldest son, James Marion Shields and her second beloved husband Glenn Teske. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Carroll and husband Harold of Victoria, TX; son: John Shields and wife Linda of Bedford, TX; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Shields Wallace of Lubbock, TX. Memorial services will be held at Jackson Ave Baptist Church on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Mike McGuire officiating. Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Jackson Ave Baptist Church Repair Fund.
