Charles James Thomas August 03, 1942 - February 08, 2010 Funeral Services for Charles James Thomas, 67, of Lovington, NM, will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Macedonia Holiness Temple Church at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery.Charles James Thomas was born August 3, 1941, in Cameron, Texas. He departed this life on February 8, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas. Charles James attended Lovington schools and later worked as an employee of the city of Lovington for numerous years. After living in Portland, Oregon for quite some time, he later returned to his home in Lovington where he became a member of the Macedonia Holiness Temple. He will be remembered as an outgoing and charismatic person who loved to have fun. He always greeted you with thunderous laughter, and he deeply enjoyed the company of his friends and family. His presence will be missed. Charles James was preceded in death by his father, Howard Bill Thomas, one daughter, Sherry Kacy, and 3 brothers Clifford Ray Thomas, James Howard, and Kenneth Ring Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memory: His Mother: Clara Mae Thomas of Lovington, NM; His wife: Shirley Mae Thomas of Texarkana, AR; One son: Carlo Thomas of Arlington, TX; one daughter: Markeba Warfield and husband Jason of Arlington, TX; four brothers: Howard and wife Jackie Thomas of Dallas, TX, Willie and wife Deborah Thomas of Spencer, OK, Johnny Ray and wife Mary Ann Thomas of Wichita Falls, TX, and Jesse Thomas of Burkburnett, TX, three sisters: Mary Lou and husband James Bradley of Lubbock, TX, Clara Mae and husband Bill of Lancaster, TX, and Barbara Jean White of Lubbock, TX; and grandchildren and a special host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends Services are entrusted to Kirby-Smith Rogers Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 am to 8 pm at the Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel.
