Obituary of Jose Torres

Jose Torres December 18, 1942 - February 05, 2011 Funeral services for Jose Guadalupe Torres, 68, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 10:00 am with Deacon Carlos Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Torres was born on December 18, 1942 in Jimenez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Julian and Cesaria (Sotelo) Torres and passed away at his home on February 5, 2011. He married Silvia Martinez in February of 1997. Jose was a hard worker, a good husband, father and grandfather. He was happy all the time and enjoyed singing very much. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Aurelio Torres and 2 sisters: Ramona Torres and Eduvijas Torres. He is survived by his wife, Silvia of the home, five sons: Martin Torres of Phoenix, AZ; Alonzo and wife Nancy Torres of Lovington, NM, Julian Gerardo Torres of Lovington; Miguel Angel and wife Janette (Rodriguez) Torres of Lovington; and Jesus Jose Torres of Minneapolis, MN. Five daughters: Guadalupe and husband Francisco J. Bustillos Gomez of Kansas and Isela and husband Francisco Bustillos of Chihuahua, Mexico; Gloria and husband Victor Alvarez of Kansas and Ana Julia and Alejandra Torres of the home; two sisters: Ana Maria Torres and Isidra Torres both of Mexico. Also 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Rosary will be on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 7:00 pm St. Thomas Catholic Church. Visitation will be at 513 Commercial.
