I would like to offer my condolences to the family of Jody Tuten. We grew up together and attended the same high school. He was about a year older than myself but we had some good times. He was raised a few miles from us but we always found a way to share our free time. There were several other boys near us and we all found time to play.
When we started playing football in high school, it was my place to block him during scrimmage. I usually just let him get thru the line after he nearly killed me several times! It was safer that way!
I saw him about 5 years ago at our Country Christmas In Greenville. I surprised him when I walked up to him and called him by his full name, Joe Walker Tuten! We had not seen each other in about 50 years! I had the edge on him because my sister told me who he was!
I could go on and on but time and space will not permit it. I know that you will miss him and you indeed have lost a loving person. He will be missed by many. Rest in peace Jody.
