Obituary of Maria Luisa Valencia

Maria Luisa Valencia April 16, 1958 - September 01, 2014 Funeral services for Maria Luisa Valencia, 56, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Redentor Molina officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Valencia was born in LaVilla De Santiago, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on April 16, 1958 to Luis and Hermerejilda (Perez) Almaguer and passed away on September 1, 2014 in Odessa, Texas. Maria was a 1976 graduate of Lovington High School and married Jose P. Valencia on December 18, 1976 here in Lovington. She was the epitome of a successful business woman and operated the Ranch House Café for over thirty years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, caring for her employees and serving her community as a member of EDC. She loved Zumba and Jazzercise classes and was a terrific people person. She loved life, smiling and laughing but she loved her boys, husband and family the most. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving her are her husband, Jose P. Valencia, of the home; three sons: Christopher Luis Valencia of New York; Aaron Joseph Valencia of Lovington and Lucas Phillip Valencia of Lovington; two sisters: Bertha and husband Robert Chavez of Lovington, NM and Emma and husband Pat Francour of Albuquerque, NM, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.. Rosary will be held on Friday, September 5th at 7:00pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday, September 4, from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am until rosary time.
