Funeral services for Clarence Clifton Wallace of Lubbock, TX, are 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at First United Methodist Church with Vergil Ichtertz officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery.
Mr. Wallace, 84, died Monday, May 21, 2007, in Lubbock. He was born August 1, 1922, in Tatum, NM. He married Marjorie D. Wallace on March 17, 1943, in Alamogordo, NM.
He was the founder of Wallace Oil Company as a Skelly distributor. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Shriner, York Rite, and Past Master of Lovington Lodge No. 46. He was a veteran of World War II who served in the 41st Infantry Division in the Pacific Campaign. Clarence was a faithful, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who spent a lifetime caring for his family. His greatest joy was being surrounded by the love we share within our family circle.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Wallace of the home; three daughters, Jeannie McCraw and husband Joe of Lovington, NM, Pam Pruit and husband John of Midlothian, TX and Martha Castillo and husband Steve of El Paso, TX; a brother, Virgil Wallace and wife Millie of Lubbock, TX; a sister, Mary Irene Dean of Capital, NM; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Frederick and Minervia Jane Wallace; three brothers, Offie Wallace, Fred Wallace and Don Wallace; and a sister, Carrie Fay Wallace.
