Watch the Tribute Marjorie Dolores Wallace October 24, 1924 - November 02, 2010 Funeral services for Marjorie D. Wallace, 86, will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in Lovington with Rev. Vergil Ichtertz officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Marjorie was born on October 20, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri to Harry F. and Martha Frances (Wood) Oswald and passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Nor-Lea Hospital. She married Clarence Wallace in Alamogordo, NM on March 17, 1943 and they moved to Lovington in 1953. She raised her daughters here and was very active with them in Rainbows. She served as Mother Advisor and was a member of the New Mexico Rainbow State Executive Committee and was the Director of Supreme Assembly Trip. When she was growing up in Clovis she was Worthy Advisor in the Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was also a member of Lovington Chapter #35 Order of Eastern Star. Marjorie was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and was active in the Wednesday morning Bible Study Group and loved her Roberts Sunday School Class. She was also past president of the Iris Garden Club. She was a loving, caring and generous person, helping others when a need arose and doing it anonymously. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Bettye Randall. She is survived by her three daughters: Jeannie and husband Joe McCraw of Lovington; Pam and husband John Pruit of Midlothian, TX; and Martha and husband Steve Castillo of El Paso, TX; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Methodist Children’s Home, 1111 Herring Ave, Waco, TX 76708. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm with the family in residence from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
