Calvin Wedgeworth August 23, 1929 - October 02, 2016 Mr. Calvin Wedgeworth, 87, of Hobbs, NM passed away on October 2, 2016 at Desert Springs Nursing Home in Hobbs. He was born on August 23, 1929 in DeKalb, TX to Tom and Cora Lee (Gibbs) Wedgeworth. He married Shirley Peoples in Plainview, TX on December 17, 1954. Mr. Wedgeworth came to Hobbs in 1969 and was a salesman for Whites Auto for twenty years. He was also a lay preacher and preached in Carlsbad and Hobbs for many years. He and his wife adopted their two daughters in 1969 and filled their lives with love. He enjoyed hiking different trails, having fun, and especially fishing and hunting. He was a positive man with a great sense of humor and was very well liked and had many friends. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; and two brothers: Marion and James Wedgeworth. Surviving Calvin are his two daughters: Karen Hewitt of Ashdown, Arkansas and Jewlee and husband Frank Seidl of Hobbs, NM; one brother: R. V. Wedgeworth and wife Melba of Texarkana, TX and one sister: Shirley Mooney of Wichita Falls,TX, and one nephew Larry Alan Peoples of Hobbs, NM. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date
