Obituary of Wanda Nell Weems

Watch the Tribute Wanda Nell Weems June 06, 1928 - June 29, 2012 Funeral services for Wanda Nell Weems, 84, of Odessa, TX, formerly of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Ms. Wanda was born on June 6, 1928 in Comanche County, Texas to Grover Oliver and Sara Lydia (Kerley) Falkner and passed away on June 29, 2012 in Odessa, Texas. She was married to Sherman Ralph Weems on November 16, 1946 in Dublin, TX. She worked in the Lovington High School Cafeteria prior to being the co-owner of Clean-Way Laundry and Dry Cleaners. She was a member of the Square Dance Club and enjoyed line- dancing with all the ladies each week and at the fair. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church. Ms. Wanda also worked for Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home before her move to Odessa. She was a hard worker, always willing to help where ever needed and was full of laughter and humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; four sisters: Genevie Whitefield, Cleo Permenter, Desma Munday, Dean Falkner and two brothers: Lynn and Glenn Falkner. She is survived by two daughters: Brenda and husband Lynn Westbrook of Odessa, TX and Becky Roberts of Ft. Myers, FL; two sons: Mike and wife Denise Weems of Dublin, TX and Terry and wife Debbie Weems of Lovington, NM. Grandchildren are: Corey and Lee Ann, Kristen and A.J., Cindy, Jennifer, Whitney and Terry Jr. Great-Grandchildren are: Bradyn, Dawson, Heather, Callie and Ace and one Great-Great-Grandchild: Sophia. Also, her Sister-in-Law; Jean Thiebaud of Dublin, TX and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Visitation will be Monday, July 2, 2012 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm.
