Aurora Wellborn February 03, 1959 - April 10, 2018 Aurora Wellborn, 59, of Lovington was born on February 3, 1959 in San Geronimo, NM.to Salomon Gutierrez and Cora V. Asencio and passed away on April 10, 2018 in Lubbock, TX. Cremation has taken place according to her wishes. She was employed with the Lovington Fire Department for 21 years, retiring in 2016 due to health issues. In earlier years she had worked for the Fire Department in Ruidoso, NM. She never met a cat she didn’t like, she was an avid reader and crocheted a mile a minute. She was preceded in death by her parents: Salomon Gutierrez and Cora V. Lopez; and one niece: Danee Stanaway. Surviving her is her son; David and wife Heather Gutierrez of Denver, CO.; one brother: Daniel and wife Emily Gutierrez of Mesquite, Nevada; two grandchildren: Josiah and Tabitha Gutierrez of Denver,CO.; nieces: Sharon and Erikah Gutierrez, and Genevieve and husband Louie Padilla; nephew: Daniel Stanaway; grand- nieces Gracelynn, Isabella, and Alayah; and good friends Ezie Venzor and Mary Talbert. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
