Obituary of Dorothy Mary Wiggins

Dorothy Mary Wiggins November 13, 1926 - January 24, 2017 Graveside services for Dorothy Mary Wiggins, 90, of Lovington, NM will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Wiggins was born on November 13, 1926 in Edgarton, Wyoming to Charles and Mary (McDonald) Ayres and passed away at her ranch in Lovington on January 24, 2017. She grew up in Wyoming and attended school there and came to New Mexico about seventy eight years ago. She married Marlin Wiggins on March 31, 1948 in Casper, Wyoming and they shared sixty two years of life together. She has made her home on the ranch since she was twenty two years of age, raising her family and making a home here. She enjoyed painting, crocheting and gardening and was a very good cook. She helped out on the ranch a lot and worked with 4-H when her kids were growing up at home. She was of the Catholic faith and was an excellent wife and mother, grandmother and rancher and her family was most important to her. She had a favorite saying, “Be true to yourself”. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marlin ”Wig” Wiggins; one brother: Charles Ayres and three sisters: Edith Archibald, Jean Cathleen Ayres and Julia Smith. She is survived by her three children: Gary and wife Vikki Wiggins; Garland Wiggins, and Starla Wiggins, all of Lovington; one brother: John and wife Kim Ayres of California; two grandchildren: Maymie Rose Mitchell of Albuquerque and Tiffany Wiggins of Los Angeles; four sisters: Alice Krohn of Yuma, AZ Josephine Bustamante of CA, Henrietta Crouse and Margaretta Ayres, both of Colorado; two sister-in-laws: Belva Whitfield and Litsu Ayres and numerous nieces and nephews.
