Desdie "Cito" Pauline Wilkerson October 29, 1918 - March 28, 2009 Obit for Desdie Pauline “Cito” Wilkerson Funeral services for Desdie Pauline “Cito” Wilkerson, 90, will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Kirby-Smith- Rogers Chapel with David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Hobbs. Cito passed away on March 28, 2009 at Lovington Good Samaritan. She was born in Marshall County, OK on October 29, 1918 to Roy Dewey & Liddie Viola (Hawkins) Catron. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith- Rogers Funeral Home. Cito married Bruce Wilkerson on May 9, 1938 in Lawton, OK. He preceded her in death in 1978. Cito was a member of Jal Church of Christ being baptized on November 5, 1965 and a faithful member of the Jal Senior Citizen Center. She & her husband owned & operated movie theaters, first in Plains, TX then moving to Jal and owning & operating the theaters there for many years. She then worked at Rosie’s Jiffy Mart & T’s Take-out in Jal until her retirement. She lived in Jal for 46 years. She moved to Lovington in October of 2002 and had been a resident of Lovington Good Samaritan for the last 2 months. Cito was a devoted member of Order of Eastern Star for 54 years always serving at any time needed & faithfully attending when health permitted. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, three sisters and one half-sister. She is survived by thirteen nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces & nephews, many great-great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM and Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com
