Sammy Willilams Jr. April 21, 1968 - December 09, 2017 Funeral services for Sammy Williams Jr., 49, of Odessa, TX and formerly of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm at The Key Church of God in Lovington. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Officiating is Pastor Carl Dawson. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Williams was born on April 21, 1968 in Lovington to Sammy Williams Sr. and Lena Mae (Jackson) Williams and passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX on December 9, 2017. Sammy attended school in Lovington and he enjoyed reading, cock fights and loved Rottweiler dogs. He had a good sense of humor and was a member of The Key Church of God in Lovington. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Willie and Julie Williams and his maternal grandfather: Willie Jackson and maternal step-grandfather, Matt Walker and nephew, Jayson Williams and two uncles. Surviving him is his wife Janis (Brooks) Williams of Odessa, TX; His father: Sammy Williams Sr and wife Debra of Lovington; his Mother: Lena Mae Williams and husband Larry Betts of Lubbock, TX; one son: Alonzo Williams and wife Esmeralda of Lovington, NM; three daughters: Artisha Torres of Sweetwater, TX, LaVonna Salahuddin of Hobbs, NM and LaTreece Brooks of Odessa, TX; three brothers: Michael Williams and wife LaShell of Lubbock, TX, Samuel Williams of Corpus Christi, TX, and Tarvinn Williams of Lubbock, TX ; four sisters: Bridget Paynes of Lubbock, TX, LaToya Wilson of Hobbs, NM, Tasha Wilson and Tejuana Wilson of San Angelo, TX; his grandmother: Ruby Walker of Tatum, NM and six grandchildren: Damarcus, Ashton, Ariel, Treyvon, Niiyah, ZahVien . Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 10:00 – 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
