Obituary of Patricia Ann Venable

Graveside services for Patricia Ann "Patt" Venable, 83, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 10:00 am at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Hobbs, NM with Pastor Chad Wease officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Patt was born on August 27, 1935 to John Grover and Elva Irene (Molder) Neely in Claremore, OK and passed away on March 2, 2019 in Lovington. Patt's greatest passion outside of her family was her church family at Hillcrest Baptist in Lovington. She served the children's ministry there for many years and was an active participant in the women's ministry. We are certain that Patt's happiest day was when she finally got to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ and reunite with her loved ones in Heaven! She was full of life during her time here and always smiling with a great laugh and zest for life. She loved to travel, spend time with family and many friends, quilt, read books, do the daily crossword puzzle in the newspaper and cook delicious food. She was always well-dressed in coordinating outfits and used to receive many compliments on her style. She was beloved by many and will be great missed. Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands: Rodney Knighten and John Venable; three brothers: Phillip, Gary and Marvin Ray; one sister: Geraldine "Jeri" Kinman and two children: Rodney "Greg" Knighten and Susan (Knighten) Comeau. Surviving her are two brothers: Richard (Carolyn) Neely of Hobbs, NM and Ralph Neely (Vivian Floyd) of Savannah, GA; one sister-in-law: Marihelen Neely of Breckenridge, TX ; one daughter: Kathy (Mike) Lobato of Rio Rancho, NM and son-in-law: David E. Comeau of Denton, TX; also, seven grandchildren: Tim & Jessica Popowsky of OK City; Heather Popowsky & Keith Parker of Edmond, OK, David M. Popowsky of Ok City, Christina Knighten & Matthew Nguyen of Mechanicsburg, PA, Amanda Comeau-Sheren & Robert Sheren of Denton, TX; David A. Comeau of Denton, TX and Micah & Carlos Merriman of Albuquerque, NM and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
