He came to Lovington in 1951 and on June 16, 1956 he married Barbara Ann Banks in Lubbock, TX and they shared fifty nine years together before her death in 2015. He was employed for 32 years with Halliburton, holding several positions during that time. Brad loved music and was a master craftsman, making fiddles, guitars, dulcimers and other musical instruments and could fix or build just about anything. He served in the US Army and was a very honorable man; if he gave his word it was a bond. He was a wise and religious man and was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Brad had lots of friends and family that would gather at his house and they would play and sing and the dominoes would appear and a good game of "42" would ensue or on other days, a friendly game of chess with his friend Kevin. Brad enjoyed his garden and fresh veggies and he liked fishing a lot. He was also called "the mercury man". He loved those mercury cars!!
