I have a lot of memories of her . One I sure am going to miss is you taking me my eye Dr. appointments, that's when we did all our catching up. She was always my go to for all my health questions, my own personal nurse.

I started working at Nor-Lea in 2015 as an OR circulator and met Katy when she was the educator. Katy was kind and patient. Her smile lit up the room. She was one of the first OR nurses I knew and I wanted to be like her. Katy always pushed me to do more and advance in my career. She was a mentor, leader and friend. She will be missed. Condolences to the family.

Katy was an amazing lady, it is hard to put in just a few words. I first met her in 1997 as a nurse at Nor-Lea, I connected with her right away. Her passion for giving exceptional patient care was so evident, my first thought was I wanted to be just like her. In the last 25+ years, I know her as a great teacher, care giver, and friend. She was a bright spot in this world. I cannot begin to tell you the number of lives Katy touched as a nurse directly at the bedside, as a comforter of someone who lost a loved one, as a teacher of those who went on to care for others, and as an advocate for providing care to those in need. I have no doubt that Katy is in the company of our Lord and Savior today. May God comfort all those who love you Katy, we all are feeling the loss heavy in our hearts today. Your dear friend, BranDee Savell, RN CNO Nor-Lea

Katy was my ER “mother” when I started working with her at LRH. I learned so much from her, not only how to be the best ER nurse, but also about life. Her dedication to making the ER a better place for patience to be treated was something she strived for. She was so compassionate with her patients no matter the situation. She didn’t take short cuts where I saw most nurses did. She did her best every single day. I loved her as a friend, “mother”, co-worker. She will be truly missed. My condolences go out her family and may God guide them through this difficult time.

Childhood memories of growing up. Your smile was the most genuine and beautiful I'd ever known. A smile that could light up a room and warm a soul with love. You were a natural healer with that infectious smile. It is no wonder you made for an amazing nurse. God knows how much you will be missed; yet, you will forever be loved. Love you Prima ❤️ Diana

Missy and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom was such a great person, such a gentle, sensible soul. I loved working with her. She was a great nurse and she always made things less stressful somehow. May God be with you and grant you peace and healing.❤️
