Funeral services for Katy Sandoval, 61, of Hobbs will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Chris Amojo officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Katy was born on February 13, 1961 in Hobbs to Felipe and Selsa (Garcia) Moreno and passed away on January 20, 2023 in Lubbock, Texas. Katy was a Registerd Nurse for 35 years working for Nor-Lea Hospital, Lea Regional Hospital, Medical Center Hospital in Odessa and was currently a school nurse for Ben Alexander in Lovington. She was a very independent, strong and hard working individual, as well as a loving mother. She loved gardening, traveling, and being outdoors. She loved her family especially her grandkids who called her "mo mo".
She was preceded in death by her parents: Felipe and Selsa Moreno; two sisters: Silvia Moreno and Anna Marie Moreno.
She is survived by her daughters: Melissa Sandoval (Kelly Pfeiffer), Mia Sandoval ( Noe Carrasco); and one son: Eric Sandoval (Misty Suarez); three sisters: Angie and husband Adrian Guillen, Eva and husband Gerardo Enriquez, and Mary Ann Garcia; four brothers: Phillip Moreno, George Chavez and wife Judy, Abel Moreno, and Jessie Moreno and wife Rebecca; and nine grandchildren: Keaton, Kylie, Jaxon, Steven, Mikey, Emma, Madelyn, Natalyn, and Nathaniel.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until after Rosary. Rosary will be at 6:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
