Funeral services for Chauncy D Woody, 82, of Lovington, NM will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2024 at New Beginnings Church with David Villar officiating located at 1600 South Love Street, in Lovington with burial to follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Chauncy was born April 1, 1941 in Clovis, NM to Ben R Woody and Blanche M. (Southern) Woody. Chauncy liked working on his truck, hunting and fishing. He was the caretaker and the rock of the family. Chauncy was an avid church goer and did communion service for the nursing homes. He is survived by daughter, Sabra Woody of Midland, TX, daughter-in-law Lena Woody, grandchildren Blessing Rivera and husband Nick, Krystal Bueno and husband Marcus, Michael Woody, Ryan Woody; and great-grandchildren Peter Hallmayer, Aniya Woody, Katie Woody and Silas Rivera, brother, Kelvin Woody and wife Kathy, sister-in-laws Dawn Walton husband Jim and Mary Waller and many nieces and nephews, and special friend Sue Lee. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marlyn Ann Woody; son Christopher Woody, parents, and brother, Murray Woody Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
