Watch the Tribute Jerry Ancell March 20, 1942 - November 19, 2011 Jerry Ancell Funeral services for Jerry Ancell, 69, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at First United Methodist Church with Russell Cowan and Reverend Vergil Ichtertz officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Services are Entrusted to Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Jerry was born on March 20, 1942, to Clifford Dale Ancell and Viola (Waechter) Ancell in Colorado and passed away at his residence on November 19, 2011. Jerry graduated from Lovington High School in 1960 and then went on to graduate from New Mexico State University in 1964 where he completed his Bachelors in Business and Accounting. Jerry worked with his father at A&W Construction. Then worked at Skalenda and Ancell CPA, and then went on to own his own practice Jerry Ancell CPA. Jerry played little league for the Lea County Electric Giants, coached by his father. Jerry went on to coach the Giants to many victories and the Regional Playoffs. Jerry served on the New Mexico Junior College Board. He also served as president of Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce Board, and The Wildcat Booster Club. Jerry was a member of The First United Methodist Church for over 40yrs and served as Chairman of the Finance Committee and on administrative boards. He also served the church by teaching Sunday school and helping with Methodist Youth Fellowship and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Jerry Also Loved to Fish, Hunt, and golf with good friends. He was also a lifelong Yankee Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: RoseAnn Ancell. One Son: Jeff Ancell and wife Kathy and children Colton, Cayman, and Cambrie. One Stepson: Kevin Elliott and wife Kelley and their daughter Megen. One Daughter: Jennifer Pritchard and Husband Jeff and children Emma and Ethan. One Step Daughter: Sharla Brooks and husband Marty and children Justin and Branson. One brother: Larry Ancell and wife Rose. Former Wife and mother of his children: Linda Ancell. Donations may be sent to the Lovington Little League at: 300 South Love, Lovington, NM 88260.Visitation will be Monday, November 21, 2011 from 8:00am until 8:00 pm.
