To his family, as a teacher, there was no one loved more.
Please find solace in knowing he touched many lives in a positive way. He was a great example of the type of people that we were blessed with in the Lovington School System.

What an influence Mr. Howell was on my life! I probably became a history teacher because his teaching made history come to life. Then later I was blessed to have Paula as a student in the 4th grade. Those years are very special memories. It was always good to see Chub at our class reunions as he was a part of the class of '57.

We were saddened to learn of Chub's passing. We have known him since the 50's. He was a good Assistant Principal during our High School Years, and we knew him as a fine and honorable man during our adult years as teachers, and longer. I enjoyed his wit and humor in occasional emails we exchanged the past few years. He will be missed.
Sincere condolences,
Bill & Charline Dye

Dear Family of Chub, I am an old Lovington Class of '57 graduate. I had Chub for a teacher in Jr. High. He kept us up on the Korean War, with a map on the wall with lines drawn where our troops were. He was always sharing his interests with us, deer hunting and 35mm photography.
Then as we moved on to High School so did he. So you see he was a big influencial part of our lives.
I had noticed that I hadn't received any e-mails from him recently nor had he answered any that I sent.
I know that you all will miss him. I know we of the Class of '57 will.
God bless you all.

Such a great loos of a great man and my seventh grade history teacher(I think). He always kept up with the Korean War with a salt color map in his room which impressed me very much. My condolences to his family.

I am so sadden to hear of Mr. Howell's passing. I can remember his so well. He was one of my teachers in 7th grade in Lovington. As the Class of 1960 moved from Jr. High to high school as freshmen, he moved with us and served as our Assistant Principal. Everyone thought very highly of our Mr. Howell. God Bless his family.
