Irma Lee Caldwell February 08, 1926 - March 04, 2012 Irma Lee Caldwell peacefully entered her eternal home on Sunday March 4th at Good Life Senior Care Center. She was born February 8, 1926 in Washington, Kansas. She graduated from high school in Shawnee, Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Ok. and a Master’s Degree at ENMU in Portales. On October 25, 1946 she married Hoyt Caldwell at Purcell, Ok. Irma Lee shared her musical talents in a forty year teaching career, most of which was at the Lovington Public Schools. She held two concerts each school year and made home-baked cookies for each student participating. Irma Lee held leading roles in musical theater productions in College and Community Theater that included Gilbert & Sullivan’s” HMS Pinafore”, “South Pacific”, “Bells Are Ringing” and “The Music Man”. She later served on the Artistic Board Of Southwest Symphony and Viva Santa Fe. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Phil Bender and Bonnie Bender Hootman, Her sister, Aletta Hanville and brother Murlin Bender, along with Grandson Chad Coe. She is survived by her daughter and husband Susan and Woody Coe of Lovington, Grandson; Logan Coe of Lubbock, Texas and two Great-grandchildren; Madison Paige Coe of Lubbock, Texas and Mason Garrett Coe of Abilene, Texas. She is also survived by two brothers, Mark and Wife Claudette Bender of Pearland, Texas and Richard and wife Jan Bender of Hobbs, New Mexico, and sister in law Betty Bender of Tulsa, Ok. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 7th at 11 am at First United Methodist Church in Lovington with Rev. Vergil Ichtertz officiating. Interment will follow in Lovington Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 6th from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm. The family extends a special Thank You to the wonderful staff of Good Life Senior Care Center and the caring staff of Star Hospice.
